The final training phase that a student can enrol for with JASP is the Certification course Digital Photography & Video In Practice.
The course is an advanced training programme and focusses on Professional Photography & Video, Photojournalism, Multi Media, Work Ethics and Business Principles.
Part of the course is an internship period where students work as support staff and junior journalists for our publication j2u magazine™.
Students who graduate at the end of the course can apply to work for j2u magazine™ as freelance journalists.

WORK AS A JUNIOR JOURNALIST FOR J2U MAGAZINE™
Become part of a dynamic team who are concerned with all the elements of compiling features for j2u magazine™.
Compile a print and video feature which could be eligible for publication.
DURATION
- The course is presented over a four month period.
- Classes are two hours in duration and two to three classes are attended per week for the first three months.
- During the fourth month the schedule is based on approximately 5 hours per day (5 days a week) spent on magazine work. This could vary as different projects could demand more or less time.
ASSESSMENT
- Each subject has various tutorials and assignments which students are required to complete.
- A final Photojournalism, Multi Media and Business Principles assignment has to be completed.
- All assignments are evaluated and a certificate of merit will we awarded if a mark of 75% or more is achieved for all the assignments collectively.
COURSE FEE
- The course fee per person is R 39 950 (if all fees are settled on registration)
- Terms are available at a slightly increased rate (refer below)
PAYMENT TERMS
- The full course fee can be paid on registration, or installments can be arranged.
- The full course fees have to be settled before the course is completed:
INSTALLMENTS
- R 10 000 deposit on enrolment and 4 installments of R7488 each.
- Apply for credit to pay for your course, software and/or camera equipment and have up to 12 and 48 months to pay.
12 to 48 MONTHS TO PAY
- We have an option where you can apply for credit and have up to 12 and 48 months to pay.
- Course fees as well as equipment and software purchase can be included in the finance amount.

- Applicants need to be permanently employed and receive an electronic salary payment.

GENERAL
- Successful completion of the Certification in Applied Digital Photography course is a pre-requisite.
- You need the following professional photographic equipment: Digital SLR camera with a video recording function, at least 2 x 8GIG memory cards, external microphone, external flash, lenses that cover a focal range of at least 24mm - 200mm and at least an entry level professional tripod.
- Additional equipment required: laptop computer with Adobe Master Collection CS5 software, external hard drive, voice recorder.
